Miami Heat Ready for Game 7 against Boston Celtics

Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra is confident that his team has moved on from the emotional ending of Game 6’s heartbreaking loss to the Boston Celtics and will respond well in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference finals on Monday night. Despite Derrick White’s buzzer beater on Saturday night, Spoelstra says the team regrouped by the next day and believes it will do what it needs to do to earn its second trip to the NBA Finals in four seasons. Spoelstra said that the team has great mental stability, and they have experienced these kinds of losses before. He is confident that they will bounce back from those losses in a very powerful way.

Ready for the challenge

Heat players repeated the same theme on Monday, believing that they are ready for the challenge after dropping three straight games to the Celtics and trying to avoid becoming the first team in NBA history to lose a playoff series after holding a 3-0 lead. Heat guard Gabe Vincent said that they are making history either way, but they are looking forward to the opportunity. The mood around the Heat was loose as they took shots after shootaround with Rick Ross blaring from a speaker on the TD Garden floor. Heat guard Max Strus said that they are blessed with the opportunity to play in Game 7 and they are excited and ready for the competition.

Experience Bouncing Back

Spoelstra has repeatedly drawn strength from the fact that the Heat have been through a variety of close games throughout the season and found a way to bounce back. He remains steadfast that his team, which could become just the second No. 8 seed in NBA history to reach the Finals, is ready for the challenge. Spoelstra said that their guys love to compete, and they are the men in the arena. When trying to accomplish something very challenging, there will be bumps and tough times, but he is just really happy for his guys that they get to experience a Game 7. They spend all their time training in the summer for moments like these. They are not for everybody, but neither are they.
