Aaron Judge Suffers Mild Hip Strain

The New York Yankees are evaluating Aaron Judge’s mild hip strain before deciding whether to place him on the injured list. The team’s manager, Aaron Boone, said they are taking the time to make sure they are doing what is best for Judge and the team. Boone also stated that they received good news regarding Judge’s injury.

Judge’s Injury History

Judge suffered the hip strain during the series opener against Texas. He came out of the game after striking out in his only two at-bats. The day before, he landed awkwardly on his right side while trying to steal third base on his 31st birthday. Judge had been showing improvement over the past two days, but the team is holding him back from baseball activities.

Uncertainty Surrounding Judge’s Return

The team is waiting to see how Judge is doing over the weekend before making a decision about whether he will need to take a 10-day stint on the injured list. If he shows improvement, he may be able to play by Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday.

Yankees’ Injury Woes Continue

The Yankees are dealing with several injuries, including Giancarlo Stanton’s left hamstring strain, Harrison Bader’s left oblique strain, and Josh Donaldson’s right hamstring strain. All three players, along with six pitchers, are on the injured list. With Judge out, Anthony Rizzo becomes the team’s leading home run hitter in the lineup with five. The team added Jake Bauers to their taxi squad from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Friday, and he was added to the 26-man roster on Saturday, taking the spot of right fielder Franchy Cordero, who was optioned to Triple-A after Friday night’s game.
