Daly Joins Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing for Final Three Events of the Season

Conor Daly will be driving for his third IndyCar team of the season as he joins Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing (RLL) for the final three events of the 2024 season. Daly lost his full-time ride at Ed Carpenter Racing to Ryan Hunter-Reay after the Detroit race and then filled in for the sidelined Simon Pagenaud at Meyer Shank Racing at Mid-Ohio and Iowa. Meanwhile, Jack Harvey, who joined RLL from Shank in 2022, will be leaving the team after this season.

Harvey currently occupies the 22nd position in the drivers’ championship, which is exactly where he finished in points last season. While he was expected to move on to another team in 2024, team owner Bobby Rahal has decided to make the change early to “gauge other racing talent” in the remaining three races on the schedule. Rahal expressed his gratitude towards Harvey for his efforts on behalf of RLL and wished him well in the future. With the opportunity to evaluate different drivers, Rahal is optimistic about the team’s potential.

Conor Daly, a series veteran with 107 IndyCar starts since his debut in 2013, is thrilled to join the Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing team. Daly has a longstanding relationship with the team’s key figures, including Bobby Rahal, Mike Lanigan, and David Letterman. Their close connections and friendship make this opportunity all the more special for Daly. He is determined to do his best and make the team proud, delivering the results they are looking for. Daly is particularly excited to get back on track at World Wide Technology Raceway, one of his favorite circuits.

Reflecting on his release from RLL, Jack Harvey acknowledges that his time with the team did not go as planned. Despite his best efforts, he recognizes that the desired results were not achieved. Harvey expresses his gratitude towards every member of the crew, acknowledging their dedication and unwavering support throughout the last two years. He leaves RLL with the hope of finding a new home in IndyCar, where he can showcase his capabilities as a race car driver. Harvey emphasizes that failures do not define individuals but rather how they respond to them.

With Daly’s addition to the RLL lineup for the final three races, there is still one driver position to be filled for the races at Portland and Laguna Seca. The team has not yet announced the driver for its #30 entry for these events. As the season progresses, RLL remains focused on evaluating racing talent and making strategic decisions for the future.

The Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing team is going through a lineup change with Conor Daly joining for the final three races of the season. Jack Harvey, who has been with the team since 2022, will be leaving after this season. Both drivers express gratitude towards the team and their respective journeys with RLL. Daly looks forward to making his mark with RLL and delivering results, while Harvey remains determined to find a new opportunity in IndyCar. With its sights set on evaluating other racing talent, RLL is gearing up for an exciting future.
