DAZN’s Golden Boy Boxing Returns with a Night of Exciting Bouts

On Saturday night, DAZN streamed a live boxing card from Dallas, Texas, featuring eight rounds of super middleweight throwdown between David Stevens and Marco Antonio Periban. Stevens, who was undefeated, was up after two rounds and seemed to hurt Periban in the third. However, Periban surprised his opponent with a flash knockdown. Stevens, who quickly got to his feet, managed to land harder punches throughout the fight, resulting in a unanimous decision win from the judges.

Esteban Villalobos vs Fredrick Lawson

In the next bout, Esteban Villalobos and Fredrick Lawson squared off in a super welterweight ten-rounder. Villalobos started off aggressively, keeping Lawson on the back foot. The fight had moments of excitement throughout its first half, with both boxers landing well. Lawson was clearly hurt in the final minute of the fight, and Villalobos almost finished him before the final bell. The judges awarded the win to Lawson, but it was a terrific fight that kept viewers on the edge of their seats.

Diego De La Hoya, with a record of 24-1, faced Victor Morales, who was 17-0-1, in a featherweight throwdown scheduled for ten rounds. The first round was not eventful, but things changed in the second as Morales charged forward like a pit bull and put De La Hoya to the mat with a terrific left. De La Hoya was able to beat the count but went down again and was unable to get back to his feet in time, resulting in a huge win for Morales.

In the main event, Jaime Arboleda, with a record of 19-2, took on the 27-0 favorite William Zepeda in a scheduled twelve-round lightweight affair. The first round was exciting, fast-paced, and close, with Zepeda edging it. Impressive combos and body work put Arboleda down in the second, and he was clearly in trouble. Arboleda was put down to the mat for the second time moments later, and Zepeda’s body attack put him down and out for the night after a few more seconds.

DAZN’s Golden Boy Boxing returned with a night of exciting bouts that kept fans entertained throughout the entire event.
