Denver Nuggets Aim to Make History by Sweeping LeBron James’ Lakers

The Denver Nuggets are on the brink of making history by reaching their first-ever NBA Finals. However, to achieve this feat, they must do something that has never been done before. No team has ever swept LeBron James in a playoff series before the NBA Finals, and the Nuggets have never completed a sweep in franchise history.

LeBron James has only been swept twice before, both times in the NBA Finals with the Cleveland Cavaliers, by the San Antonio Spurs in 2007 and the Golden State Warriors in 2018.

The Nuggets understand the enormity of their task, and veteran forward Jeff Green stated that they must end LeBron’s playoff run. He noted that LeBron is a phenomenal player and has accomplished many things in his 20-year career. However, the Nuggets must deny him any chance of making a comeback.

Guard Bruce Brown echoed the same sentiment, saying that the Nuggets must focus on slamming the door shut on the Lakers and give them no hope or confidence.

The Lakers are hoping that their practice sessions will not be the final ones of the season. They are motivated to avoid being swept by the Nuggets and have a real chance of winning the upcoming game.

Lakers coach Darvin Ham stated that it is a very real thing for the Lakers to be fueled to avoid a 4-0 finish to their season. The team is competitive and wants to put on a good show for their fans, who support them consistently.

However, history is against the Lakers, as teams that have fallen behind 0-3 in a series are 0-149 all-time. The Nuggets are aware of this and know that this will be the hardest closeout game the franchise has ever played in its history, given what is at stake.

Nikola Jokic, the Nuggets’ star player, talked about his apprehension, knowing that Denver is going for the knockout punch with an all-time great fighting to keep his team’s season alive.

Jokic acknowledged that he is worried because they have LeBron on the other side, who is capable of doing everything. The Lakers can only focus on staying alive in the upcoming game.

Ham stated that the Lakers are facing a talented and well-coached team, but they also have things that they can do. The Lakers only need to focus on the current game and not be overwhelmed by the outside noise or the overall series.

The Denver Nuggets are looking to make history by sweeping the Lakers and reaching their first-ever NBA Finals. The Lakers are motivated to avoid being swept and have a real chance of winning the upcoming game. However, the Nuggets understand the enormity of their task and are ready to give their best to end LeBron’s playoff run.
