Juventus Claims 2-0 Victory Against Cremonese, but Pogba Suffers Another Injury

Juventus secured a 2-0 win against Cremonese in Serie A on Sunday with goals from Nicolo Fagioli and Bremer in the second half. The result put Juventus eight points ahead of AC Milan in the battle for a top-four finish and a place in the Champions League. However, the victory was overshadowed by another injury to midfielder Paul Pogba, who returned to Juventus last summer but has struggled with injury since. Pogba started the game well, but he only lasted 20 minutes before sustaining another injury and leaving the field in tears. Reports suggest that Pogba suffered a muscle issue.

Despite rotating their lineup ahead of the Europa League semifinal second leg against Sevilla on Thursday, Juventus dominated their opponents from the start. However, they struggled to score in the first half, with only two shots on target by Bremer and Arkadiusz Milik saved by Cremonese goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi. In the second half, Juventus stepped up their game, and Fagioli scored a stunning goal in the 55th minute, firing the ball into the top of the net from a cross by Federico Chiesa. Carnesecchi, who had made the most saves in the big five European leagues in 2023, was tested more after the break but was unable to prevent Bremer from scoring a close-range header in the 79th minute, sealing the win for Juventus.

The victory was an important one for Juventus, who are hoping to secure a place in the Champions League next season. However, Pogba’s injury is a significant setback for the team, and it remains to be seen how long he will be out of action. Juventus will be hoping that the injury is not too serious and that Pogba will be back in action soon.
