Lionel Messi apologizes for missing training at PSG

Lionel Messi, the World Cup-winning captain has apologized to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and his teammates for missing a training session to travel to Saudi Arabia. On Friday, he released a video on his Instagram story in which he apologized to the club and his colleagues. Messi’s absence from Monday’s training session led to his suspension without pay for two weeks. PSG boss Christophe Galtier informed his team that they could have Monday and Tuesday off if they beat Lorient on Sunday, but they would have to attend training on Monday if they lost the match. Unfortunately, PSG lost the game 3-1, and Messi thought he could go on the trip since he had previously been given time off in previous weeks.

Messi expressed his regret over the incident and said that he had organized the trip to Saudi Arabia, which he had initially canceled. He also apologized for his actions and said that he was waiting for the club’s decision. Galtier stated in a news conference that he had nothing to do with Messi’s suspension and that the board had informed him of the decision at the beginning of the week.

Sources revealed that Messi will leave PSG at the end of his contract this summer, despite an agreement in principle before the World Cup in Qatar to extend his stay at the club. Messi’s trip to Saudi Arabia has caused tension in the PSG dressing room, with some players unhappy about the incident. On Wednesday, hundreds of PSG supporters gathered outside the club’s Paris headquarters to express their anger at Messi, teammate Neymar, and president Nasser al-Khelaifi.

Despite losing three of their last six matches, PSG remains at the top of the Ligue 1 table, five points ahead of second-placed Marseille.
