Los Angeles Dodgers’ Clayton Kershaw returns to pitch against Tampa Bay Rays

Los Angeles Dodgers’ Clayton Kershaw has returned to pitch against Tampa Bay Rays after being activated from bereavement leave. Kershaw, who has a record of 6-4, had taken a leave of absence after his mother Marianne Tombaugh passed away. He had taken a loss in his previous game against St. Louis, allowing four runs over 3.3 innings. However, the Dodgers’ Manager Dave Roberts said that Kershaw felt considerably better than his last couple of starts and was in a much better spot going into the game against the Rays.

Julio Urías throws off a mound

In other news, Los Angeles left-hander Julio Urías, who left his start on May 18 due to a strained left hamstring, was scheduled to throw off a mound on Saturday. According to Roberts, Urías was trending in the right direction and was going to throw a bullpen session on Saturday. The team will decide on his return based on his performance in the bullpen session.

Dodgers make other moves

The Dodgers made a few more moves, including optioning right-hander Tayler Scott to Triple-A Oklahoma City and claiming righty Zack Burdi on waivers from Tampa Bay. They also moved right-hander Tyler Cyr, who was on the 15-day injured list due to right shoulder impingement, to the 60-day injured list.

Tyler Glasnow set to make his regular-season debut

Rays right-hander Tyler Glasnow was set to make his regular-season debut against the Dodgers. Glasnow had been sidelined since spring training due to a strained left oblique but had made four minor league starts.

Overall, the Dodgers’ return to full strength is a positive sign for the team, as they look to continue their good form and maintain their position at the top of the National League West.
