Quartararo and Manager Mahe End Relationship Ahead of Key Season

Reports suggest that MotoGP rider, Fabio Quartararo, and his manager, Eric Mahe, have decided to end their working relationship. Although neither party has officially confirmed the split, Mahe was notably absent from the Mugello race this weekend. The reason for the separation is unknown, and it is uncertain who will assume the manager role ahead of the 2024 season, a crucial year for Quartararo.

Mahe has been working with Quartararo since 2016, when the Frenchman was still competing in Moto3, following his split with Eduardo Martin, his agent at the time. Mahe was instrumental in securing Quartararo’s promotion to Moto2 in 2017 and helped him make the jump to MotoGP with Yamaha and the Sepang Racing Team satellite squad. Furthermore, Mahe negotiated Quartararo’s Yamaha deal for 2021 and secured his last contract renewal, which lasts until the end of next year.

Despite the unexpected split, Quartararo’s focus is on his performance in the upcoming races. At the Mugello race, the Yamaha rider finished 15th in the combined timesheets, forcing him to go through Q1 for the third consecutive race. Quartararo expressed his disappointment with his performance, stating that he did not have confidence in the front end of the bike and that his feelings were not the best.

Quartararo’s performance comes after a challenging season, which has seen him struggle to replicate his early-season form. The Frenchman is looking to secure his position as the 2021 MotoGP world champion, making the upcoming season crucial for his future.

The split between Quartararo and Mahe is not the first of its kind in the MotoGP world. Champion Marc Marquez recently parted ways with his long-time manager, Emilio Alzamora, as he looks to regain his form following a long-term injury.
