The top-10 starting order for Sunday’s race is completed by Kyle Larson, Christopher Bell, Shane van Gisbergen, Alex Bowman, and Ty Gibbs. As he navigated Turn 11, Kostecki lost control of his car and collided with the wall, resulting in significant damage to his No. 33 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet. Reflecting on the incident, Kostecki expressed disappointment in himself for pushing too hard. Nonetheless, he remains hopeful that his car’s speed will ensure a good performance in the race.
Martin Truex Jr., Kevin Harvick, and William Byron also faced disappointment as they failed to advance to the final round from Group B. Byron, in particular, experienced further setbacks as his No. 24 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet failed inspection three times on Friday, resulting in him being barred from qualifying.
