BoxingInsider Promotions and DiBella Entertainment are back with their fourth promotion in six months. The event, Broadway Boxing, will feature local and international fighters and will be streamed globally on DAZN.
Main Event
The main event of the evening will feature five-time New York Golden Gloves champion Brian Ceballo (13-1, 7 KOs) from Brooklyn, who will face Dominican Edward Ulloa Diaz in an eight-round super welterweight contest. Ceballo won the WBO Inter-Continental welterweight belt in December 2020 and is looking forward to defending his home turf.
Miyo Yoshida
Miyo Yoshida (15-3), a two-time super flyweight world champion, will make her US debut in the event. She has been training at Gleason’s Gym in Brooklyn, NY, under the guidance of head coach Leon Taylor. Yoshida, who gave birth to her daughter in 2015, won the Japan Boxing Commission and Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation bantamweight titles before capturing the WBO super flyweight crown in 2019. Though she lost her title in her last fight, Yoshida is eager to get back into world title contention.
Maccow-Otero Grudge Match
Sydney “The Jackal” Maccow (8-8, 3 KOs) and Christian “Veneno” Otero (4-3, 2 KOs) will be facing off in a grudge match that has been brewing for years. The two fought each other as amateurs, and their gym wars are well known. Otero made his pro debut in 2020, while Maccow is coming off a five-fight streak of four wins sandwiched around a no contest. The two have engaged in a war of words, with Maccow claiming he has beaten Otero in sparring, while Otero is determined to settle the score in the ring.
Other Fights
In an eight-round battle for the vacant NABF Jr. Super Featherweight Championship, Tsendbaatar “Chinggis Khaan” Erdenebat (5-0, 3 KOs), a two-time Mongolian Olympian and 2018 Asian Games gold medalist, will face Edy Valencia Mercado (20-9-6, 7 KOs). Joshua David “Pretty Boy” Rivera (8-2, 3 KOs) from La Mesa, CA, will face off against Larry “Lethal” Fryers (11-6, 4 KOs) from Ireland in a six-round junior welterweight bout.
