Custom Playoff Jackets for NHL Players’ Significant Others

While bushy beards may be the most well-known aesthetic tradition of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, custom-made playoff jackets for the players’ significant others are a bit more fashion-forward. These jackets have been worn for years and can range from denim jackets to leather jackets, all personalized with team logos and colors, as well as the names and numbers of their beloved players.

Striking Designs by Taylor Kampa Olson

Artist Taylor Kampa Olson and TKO Paintings have created some striking designs for NHL playoff teams in recent years. For the 2021 playoffs, the Washington Capitals players’ wives and girlfriends wore personalized jackets with the team’s Reverse Retro logo. Last postseason, she made leather jackets for the Dallas Stars’ ladies, with bright green names and the team’s logo on the back.

Personalized Leather Jackets for the New Jersey Devils

For the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs, Olson worked with the wives and girlfriends of New Jersey Devils players to create 18 personalized leather playoff jackets with gothic-style lettering, flames on the back, and the team’s logo on the front. What sets these jackets apart is the inclusion of the players’ actual signatures. Three of the girls wanted the signature on the front and the other 15 wanted it on the sleeve.

A Heavy Metal Look for the Devils’ Significant Others

The personalized leather jackets for the New Jersey Devils players’ significant others make them look like fans of a heavy metal band, which is appropriate given the team’s name. These jackets are not only fashionable but also serve as a distraction from the unkempt playoff beards, should the Devils have the opportunity to grow them out after this first-round series against the New York Rangers.
