FC Cincinnati Forward Brenner Completes Transfer to Udinese

FC Cincinnati’s talented forward Brenner has officially made his transfer to Italian Serie A side Udinese. Although the transfer fee was not disclosed by Cincinnati, insiders have revealed that the fee is $10 million, plus undisclosed incentives, and a sell-on percentage. The deal was announced as a “club-record, multi-million-dollar transfer fee.”

Brenner’s Career and Success with FCC

Brenner’s previous club, Sao Paulo, was expected to receive a 20% net profit from any future transfer. However, since Cincinnati is incurring a loss on the $13 million original transfer fee paid to Sao Paulo in 2021, no additional fee will be paid to the Brazilian club. As Brenner came up through their youth system, Sao Paulo will receive a solidarity payment of at most $400,000.

FC Cincinnati’s General Manager, Chris Albright, expressed his happiness for Brenner’s move, stating that the club’s ultimate goal is to win games and attract the best talent. Brenner’s move to FCC has paid off, as he scored 18 goals in 31 league and playoff appearances during the 2022 season, forming a formidable partnership with Brandon Vazquez. Overall, Brenner has scored a total of 27 goals and eight assists in 71 appearances.

Brenner spent parts of four seasons as a professional with Sao Paulo, with his breakout season being in 2020 when he scored 22 goals in all competitions. This move to Udinese will allow him to play in one of the biggest leagues in Europe and continue to grow as a player.

This significant transfer for FC Cincinnati is a testament to the club’s efforts in the past year and a half, with ownership’s commitment to give the club the resources to compete. Despite the loss incurred from the original transfer, Brenner’s move marks a notable milestone for the club.
