Red Sox Overcoming Early Season Struggles

As the Red Sox faced injuries early in the season, players like Rob Refsnyder stepped up to fill in gaps in the lineup. Refsnyder, known for his versatility on the diamond, found himself hitting in the 3-hole, a position typically reserved for a team’s best hitter. Though the move was met with skepticism from fans and the media, Refsnyder and other players stepped up to help the Red Sox find success.

After getting swept by the Tampa Bay Rays, the Red Sox turned things around and have won seven of their last 11 games. They rank second in the majors in runs scored since April 15, with Rafael Devers leading the charge with his powerful hitting. But the team has also found success in other areas, including Masataka Yoshida’s improved performance at the plate and Alex Verdugo’s breakout season.

The Red Sox bullpen has also been a bright spot, ranking ninth in baseball with a 3.25 ERA. Closer Kenley Jansen has been dominant, not allowing a run in his first seven appearances. Josh Winckowski and John Schreiber have also looked reliable out of the pen, though there are some concerns about the shaky performances of Ryan Brasier and Kaleb Ort.

Overall, the Red Sox have been able to overcome early season struggles and injuries to find success on the field. With players like Refsnyder stepping up and the bullpen performing well, the team is poised to continue its winning ways throughout the season.
